My Work!

The Hipster Intelligencer
This is one of the most recent assignments I had to do. My goal in this project was to use CSS to transform the HTML document into a webpage that looks like a newspaper. I used some of the new CSS3 features to create rounded corners, box shadows, and text shadows. I also used web fonts from fontsqirrel.com. I focused on making a three column layout, using colors and fonts that worked well together.

Seasons
Seasons was a fun assignment! This project was to showcase some of the new features in both HTML5 and CSS3. I used new mark up tags in my HTML including: article, canvas, section, header, footer, aside, and nav. I created a form using new input tyes: email, url, and date. Along with attributes: autofocus, required, and placeholder. The new CSS3 features I used are: border-radius, text-shadow, box-shadow, gradient, transition, multiple background images, media queries, web fonts, multi-column layout, and flexible box model! The challenge here was the JavaScript for the canvas.

Doggy Daycare
Another class assignment but this time simulating a prospective client. I was given a list of requirements and specs from my faux-client for the project. Then I set about the task to build the Doggy Day Care website according to those specs. Included in the project is a link to pre-production and pre-planning phases. This project not only required me to write HTML and CSS again from scratch, but JavaScript as well. The JavaScript challenged me to the most.

Discography
This website is one of my earliest pieces of work. It's a class assignment in which I had to come up with the layout and design all on my own. I had to pick one of my favorite bands and showcase their music. I hand coded the HTML and CSS from scratch. Then as part of the assignment I had to create a stylesheet switcher. This allows you to see the website with varying layouts, colors and design. It was quite challenging being barely wet behind the ears with my knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Internet Timeline
Internet Timeline is the very first website I ever built. I barely knew what I was doing. I had just begun learning the basics of HTML and CSS2. The site included several pages. Each page representing a decade in internet progress. Starting in the 50's through the present. I had challenges with the CSS because it was all new to me, but I figured it out.
