The lovely Chicago River divides the city into three areas. The North, South, and West sides. The "Loop" is downtown where all the financial busineses are. If your looking for shopping zones that would be the "Magnificent Mile" You can also find upscale hotels for your lodging there. We have approximately 29 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan that is reserved for public use and kept as parkland! It is a great way to escape for walks, rides, and photography.
